Empowering Progress Through Sustainable Development Goals

In 2015, the United Nations embraced the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), globally recognized as the Global Goals. These goals represent a universal rallying cry, urging humanity to eradicate poverty, safeguard our planet, and strive for a world where every individual experiences peace and prosperity by the year 2030.

Goal 1

End poverty in all its forms everywhere

EADE Organization participated in the Employment Fair organized by Nineveh University on 16 April 2018

Goal 2

End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture

EADE completed the project of (Provision of Emergency Livelihood Support for Highly Vulnerable Returnees and Non-Displaced in Tel Afar, Nineveh, Iraq).

Goal 3

Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

The Engineering Association for Development and Environment, EADE is conducting a wide environmental aware support of the TAKAMUL program, USAID.
Through United States Agency for International development (USAID) fund Ta’afi program, and in partnership with the Engineering Association for Development and Environment –EADE.

Goal 4

Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Al-Mobdeoon Private School organized the ceremony of the second copy of (The Programmer of the Future Competition).
Finishing schools’ rehabilitation in west Mosul / IHPF project
in cooperation with Al-Mobdioon Primary Private School in Mosul, EADE Organization started presenting regular environmental lectures in complete curricula and for all primary school levels during the education year 2019-2020.

Goal 5

Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.

EADE Organization finished the project of (Enhancing Water Network in Qraytagh Village – Namroud District, Nineveh Governorate).

Goal 6

Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all.

EADE Organization submitted to UNDP the report entitled “Solar Energy Future in Iraq”.
In early March, prior to the #curfew enacted in response to #COVID-19, 500 struggling Iraqi families in Markaz Fallujah, Fallujah sub-district, were provided with basic non-food items (Quilts, Mattresses, Solar lamps, Water jerry cans, Cooking stove ) by the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) and its partner, the Engineering Association for the Development and Environment (EADE), supported by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Goal 7

Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.

EADE has conducted field a field radioactive scan to Al-Yarmouk Municipal Unit at west side in Mosul.
EADE work starts to rehabilitation and supplying Al-Yarmouk municipal unit in west Mosul in order to improve the services provided to people.
EADE has conducted awareness campaigns at Al-Yarmouk, Almatahen and AlMagherb neighborhoods about the services to introduce people towards the services provided by Al-Yarmouk municipal unit.

Goal 8

Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.

In cooperation with the Engineering Association for Development and Environment-EADE, the Ministry of Education concludes the Forum of Innovators for “Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Robots” for school students in Iraq.

Goal 9

Reduce inequality within and among countries.

Aside from improving living conditions and helping to mitigate the extreme temperatures of Iraqi summers, the physical rehabilitation and maintenance of #publicspaces in war-affected cities offer labor-intensive job opportunities and the upskilling of youth.
By the sponsoring of the Engineering Association for Development and Environment-EADE, the Iraqi Chess Federation held the Iraq Championship for Youth and Juniors for the categories under 16, 18 and 20, which was held in Mosul, Nineveh Governorate from 5 to 8 September 2022.

Goal 10

Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.

EADE Program coordinator in Sulaimaniya participated in the 2019 HWPL Halabja Conference: Legislate Peace Steps toward Sustainable Peace works in Iraq.
EADE Organization participated in the FINANCING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN ARAB COUNTRIES 11th Annual Conference of the Arab Forum for Environment and Development (AFED)

Goal 11

Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

The delegation of the Engineering Association for Development and Environment, EADE attended a session explaining the overall work of the Iraqi delegation for today within the COP26 Climate Change Conference
The Engineering Association for Development and Environment-EADE has the observer status in the process of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Engineering Association for Development and Environment-EADE delegate is participating at the XV World Forestry Congress which is held in South Korea for the period 2nd till 6th May 2022.

Goal 12

Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.

Engineering Association for development and Environment, EADE hold a counselling session for the suggested design of Al-Bawary Park at Tal-Afar within EU-funded program Supporting.

Goal 13

Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.

The Engineering Association for Development and Environment-EADE participates in the Climate Conference in Sharm El-Sheikh COP27.
EADE delegation participated in the side event of COP27 under the title of (Strengthening Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Action, Building Climate Resilience, inclusiveness and Sustainability: Experiences from the Arab region).

Participation in the 6th Arab International Conference on Prevention of Child abuse and Neglect in Oman
The delegation of the Engineering Association for Development and Environment-EADE is participating in the Dubai Climate Week conference in the Middle East and North Africa, with high-level attendance from North African and Middle Eastern countries, representatives of the Secretariat of the Framework Convention on Climate Change and the United Nations Environment Organizations.
